TWO - ONE, TWENTY ONE months done!!!

Raise a drink my friends, we're finally twenty one!! Yes, another month has come and gone on the waiting list, but the thing that's different this month is that we actually have something in the house for baby. As you all know, we have not bought one thing...no pacificers, no toys, no clothes, no furniture. And we have done really well. I actually begged Jon to buy something small for baby this Christmas. BUt he said no. Leave it to us to actually listen to my Mom about something, but why we chose to listen about superstitions and bad luck I don't have a clue. BUT...we have stuck by it and won't buy anything until we get that call.....

BUT....we didn't buy this. This is baby's first Gator from our friends, here. I swear I almost cried when I opened the package, because seriously this is our baby's first toy!! Not a toy we had and are passing down, but OUR BABY'S very first, brand spankin' new, giggles when you press the toe, toy!!! Our baby's first Gator...GO GATORS!! And he's sitting in Jon's Great Grandmother's rocking chair, just waiting for him. I can't wait. 21 months done, bring that referral on!!!

Doesn't it make it fun and more real to have something in the house for the baby?! Hopefully soon you'll know who baby is.

If it were me, I'd prefer a Smokey dog that sang Rocky Top! I do hope your little guy gets to hold that gator soon. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

HOORAY! Are you going to send it in a care package to the baby before travel or wait until baby is home?

Hi! RE: your comment about my house...if it makes you feel better just 6 years ago i was living in a studio apt. i moved to CA to work on my MA and sold almost all of my belongings. in fact, everything i had fit in the back of an old pickup truck! so i have had to rebuy so many things...but all of it is cheap...i am super frugal and usually only buy stuff on sale. this new house is very nice, but i hold it with an open hand...God may have plans to move me back to a studio some day!

Best of luck to you both, it is a long wait but continue stay strong and patient. Our family waited over two years and it was the most painful and challenging experience we had ever went through. We found your blog link on the Seyler's site and I couldn't help but notice so many similarities to our own marriage and waiting experience. God bless you both and there is a treasure at the end of this rainbow.
