Fingerprints...Check!!!

Spent an hour and a half at the immigration office today, or now as it's called the Office of Homeland Security. Got our fingerprints done. It's all sorts of high tech now. No more black ink rolling our prints onto a sheet of paper. It's all computerized. You roll your fingers on a little piece of glass and then it goes into the data base. No hiding now, we're logged in. I kept getting a "match warning" message. What does that mean? Does some other criminal have prints close to mine? That's gonna be a little hard to explain to our adoption agency. We're trying to get a baby here, no "match warnings" allowed. I ask the lady what that means...she doesn't know...but tells me it's okay...okay? Oh it better be okay. Nice work Homeland security!
Anyways, this constitues our FBI background check and then when all the paperwork is done, we'll get advanced approval to bring an orphan into the US. Whew..one more thing checked off. Once we get our passports(due any day now) and this immigration form, we'll fax it to our adoption agency and continue the wait..

I had problems with my fingerprinting, too. I think I had the same error, but it's been so long that I don't remember for sure. I had to have each finger redone like 5 times before the man moved on. I think it means that the prints they took may not be good enough to match, but I'm not sure. Try not to worry; I am sure they'll let you know if something is wrong.

I remember this day...It was a big deal to us. I had fingerprint issues also....Just like Angela I had each one done a bunch of times. The screen flashed all sorts off messages, but it was all fine in the end.

Congratulations on checking one more thing off the list!!

Just found your blog through Jen's. Very amazing! I was from Taiwan so I just want you guys to have the best of luck in all this! I always figure anyone who adopt has the biggest heart in the world to accept someone and love them just for the sake of loving someone. Best of luck guys! Whoever is fortunely enough to be your baby will be the luckiest child!!! Hugs
